Jaxon was born at 11:30 PM on August 18, 2010. He weighed in at 5 lb 6.9 oz, 19 3/4 inches long. He was 6 weeks early!!! What a shock. But he is doing well and as of today (August 29) -- he is now in the regular nursery and we are just waiting for him to gain weight and eat better. We hope he gets to come home soon. He is soooo precious.

Reagann -- 9 months -- wanting to walk. (She's 11 months now -- I don't have a picture, but she is walking everywhere!) She's soo cute and soo smart (and I'm not prejudiced!)

March 31, 2010 We went to Salt Lake City to see Michael Buble!!

My adopted son (not really) Justin Ray (my oldest son's best friend since they were little) is a trumpeter in Michael Buble's band. We are so fortunate (and spoiled) that he gets us tickets at different venues where they are playing. This is my 3rd time to see the show and this show is by far the BEST!!! I drove up to Salt Lake City when Justin let Missy know that he had 4 tickets for us. We saw Justin right before the show (they left too quickly after the show to get to Portland) and he looked good. He got us tickets 10 rows back in the middle on the aisle. Can't do much better than that -- and they were free!!! I am spoiled!!!! I love Justin!!!

The warm up -- Naturally Seven -- were a "vocal" band -- no instruments, but you sure couldn't tell. One guy sounded like the drums, another the bass, another the strings, another the brass -- it was amazing. They are really good.

We were sooo lucky to have all our family together for Christmas this year. Lewis, Tina and family came from Washington DC and Missy came home from Utah. It was a wonderful Christmas season!! We enjoyed it immensely!!!

After Reagann's blessing, Chris, Kristen, Doug and Lydia came over for lunch. After lunch, we had to take Missy to the airport -- WHAH!!! Anyway, while Kristen was nursing Reagann and Doug, Lydia, Gary and I were playing our favorite game of "trains" -- Ryan decided to explore my craft room. He found my brand new, expensive markers (Copic markers) and took the caps off of 3 or 4. He took the brown one into Doug's old bedroom and into the bathroom and had a great time decorating the bathroom and him!!!

I look great -- huh?

This is only a small part of what he did -- luckily we got most of it off -- it was on the toilet lid, the shower door, the furniture -- and Comet cleanser got all of that off. We just couldn't get it off the paint -- but that is easy to remedy -- we repaint those places. I just thought it was really funny -- and I hope he didn't get the wrong idea that it was OK.

Reagann's Blessing at Church

In the Mormon church, Dad's holding the priesthood bless their newly born children. They give them a name to be known in the church and a blessing. Reagann was blessed that her family and Heavenly Father loves her, she will be blessed with a temple marriage and will have spiritual strength.

Doug is always #9 -- since little league and high school. His team isn't that great -- but he is having fun. Many on his team have never played. The team was put together through his work.

Made it to first -- and talking to psyche out the first basewoman.

The Special Shapes Glow-deo!!! at the BALLOON FIESTA!!

The balloon fiesta runs the first 2 weekends in October and the week in between. There are several mass ascensions with at least 600+ balloons (usually more) and several glow-deo's (at night where the balloons are tethered and light up all at once many times -- it is so beautiful). The Special Shapes Glow-deo is my favorite because I love all the special shaped balloons -- I love all the balloons but the special shapes are all so exciting and different. The Special Shapes Glow-deo is held on Thursday night every year and Missy was lucky enough to come home. She flew in around 2:30 -- then we came here (you gotta be early to get a parking place and a place to put your chairs/blankets, etc.) The entire Balloon Fiesta is a carnival atmosphere. You can walk around all the balloons and watch them go from cool inflate, to hot inflate, to taking off. There is good food everywhere, vendors of all types and, in the evening, people walking around selling glow sticks, etc. My kids and I have done that many times as fundraisers for the various activities in the high schools, etc.
Unfortunately, Missy was taking most of the pictures, so she wasn't in them. Both Chris and I walked out of the house without our cameras!!!! Chris actually went home before we left to get his camera bag, but when he opened it at the Fiesta -- hmmm, no camera in it!!! Unbelievable. Luckily, Missy had hers.

Darth Vader made it. Darth was stuck in China and there was a fear that he wouldn't make it. He went to a festival in Mongolia and then China wouldn't let him go!!! But, with the help of the US government -- he finally got out and was raced to Albuquerque for the fiesta. He barely made it for this event -- we are surely glad he did. He wasn't the only one in China, though -- there were 13 others and most made it -- some were damaged, but for the most part, they were all here!!!

Getting sundown and getting ready to tether up for the glow-deo. All the balloons tether and then, when it is dark, there is a countdown and all the balloons light up at the same time. What a site!!! It happens over and over for all to enjoy. It is a party atmosphere -- with people everywhere! Everyone is happy and enjoying themselves -- never any problems.

We're lighting up -- but it really isn't quite dark enough. Still spectacular.

Marisa, Lisa and Grandma Taylor -- Lisa and Marisa are Gary's brother Verl's daughters. I haven't seen Marisa in at least 30 years -- it was so great to see her. Lisa is a firewoman -- the captain of her unit -- in Mesa, Arizona. Marisa had just run a marathon the previous week and was going to run another 2 weeks later!!! They spent a lot of time walking, training, etc. while here. We enjoyed them and they enjoyed being with Grandma.

Reagann Bailey Taylor -- born September 19, 2009. Unfortunately, we weren't there. We were in Utah for Missy's birthday which is September 20. Her brother Ryan's birthday is September 18. Busy month of September!!!

Little baby Reagann.

On Tuesday, the 15th of September, Kristen came over to my house for our weekly girl's out stamping day. She came in feeling horrible and we decided that she was having contractions. We started timing them and they were every 2 1/2 minutes -- very regular. So, I panicked and took her straight to the hospital. While there, we waited and then walked and then, they checked her again and said that she wasn't progressing -- after 4 hours of every 2 1/2 minutes of contractions. Well, then she stopped. So, we talked to the doctor and he told her that if she didn't come before, he would induce her on Sept 22. When Ryan was born, she was late and was induced and we figured that it would be that way again.

It was Missy's birthday that week. She was a little homesick so we went up to Utah to visit her for her birthday. We went to the Utah State Fair and had a great time. Unfortunately, or for Kristen fortunately, we were not there when she went into labor. Whah!!! And... we were going to California to pick up another -- yes another -- gas pump. We would be home on Monday, and she was to deliver on Tuesday. Oh... the plan...how I wished it had worked. So, we left Utah on Sunday, drove to Oakland California, picked up the pump, and drove on to Fresno -- yes, in one day. We left Fresno on Monday morning and drove all the way home in order to see the baby. Each day was about 17 hours!!! But -- we made it and we were soo glad to see our 6th grandchild.

GOING THROUGH KENTUCKY TO GET AN ANTIQUE GAS PUMP!!!

After Austin's baptism, we drove through Kentucky to pick up an antique gas pump that Gary bought. Gary has started collecting antique gas pumps -- we have two in our play room right now!!! This one is called a "Mae West" pump because of its curves! It is a very collectible pump. Gary is going to restore this pump and a couple of others that he has. We had a great time going through Kentucky -- it is sooo pretty. Then we went through Oklahoma to see an old farmer with another pump (we did not buy it) -- getting lost getting to his farm and ended up going through an animal refuge. We also got to go to the Oklahoma City federal building memorial -- very humbling and spiritual. It was beautifully done. We had a great trip -- starting out with Austin's baptism and coming home through beautiful country.

The store was full of dogs and cats -- was not open at the time, but it was so picturesque. Unfortunately, Gary locked the keys in the car and he and the guy from whom we bought the pump managed to break into the truck through the back sliding doors. While they did that, I enjoyed taking pictures of the animals and surroundings. I can't believe I didn't take a picture of them trying to crawl through the window -- now that was a picture. Wish I had gotten it!!
There were golden retriever puppies there who were soooo cute. They were so playful -- biting my toes, chasing me, it was fun. I really wanted to take one home.

This is an outhouse that was built more recently. When it was built, they had a big party -- with big name country western singers here. They started an "outhouse racing" contest where the contestants bring their outhouses. One person has to be in the outhouse -- the others push it down the road to the finish line. It must be quite a funny thing.

A lake in Arkansas -- we had a flat tire and this is where we pulled over to fix it. It was really pretty so, of course, I had to take pictures.

Next we went to Oklahoma City to the former Alfred R. Murrah Federal Building -- now plaza. It is the memorial for the people who were killed in the Oklahoma City bombing. It was very sad, and spiritual.

After we left Oklahoma City, we headed to the an old farmers house to see another gas pump. When we got lost, we ended up in an animal refuge and these buffaloes were on the way.

We were again able to go to Washington DC to be at Austin's baptism. We weren't planning on going -- but I just couldn't stand not to be there -- so we made a quick trip. The kids were excited to see us -- and we were definitely excited to see them and Lewis and Tina.

Carol Bell and I hosted a wedding shower for Katrina Maxwell -- it was fun and Katrina got many wonderful things to start out her marriage. We had it on August 1. Katrina and Wes Hanchett got married on August 22, 2009.

We went to Provo for the Stadium of Fire on July 4th. So fun!!!

We got tickets through Glenn Beck's website to go to Stadium of Fire on July 4th in Provo, Utah. It was the most spectacular 4th of July fireworks display that I have EVER seen. Glenn Beck was the MC and SheDaisy and the Jonas Brothers performed. They had a GREAT pageant on the floor of the stadium with kids from all over the state -- it was amazing. Chris, Kristen, Gary and I drove up to Provo and met with Missy and her friend Krystal to go to the extravaganza. Kristen was about 7 months pregnant at the time, but she did well. Chris and Kristen flew home, but Gary and I stayed with Missy for a few more days and had a great time.

After Doug got married and we had all the family together, we had Pam Christison take our family pictures. She is such a great photographer. Kristen found her through a friend -- she is a member of our church and an up and coming photographer. We loved all the pictures -- these are just a few of the best.

When Lewis and Tina came for Doug's wedding, we also blessed Natalie at church. She looked so pretty in her little white dress. These are some great pictures taken of the kids while they were here.

Wednesday night after they returned from their honeymoon, Doug and Lydia opened their presents. It was fun and what a blessing it was for the newlyweds. We all certainly have wonderful and generous friends who helped out this awesome couple. We had both families present, and had pizza and barbeque before opening the presents. It was fun having everyone together another time.

We don't get to spend much time with Lewis's kids since they live in Fairfax, Virginia. Lewis is in the Air Force stationed in Arlington, Virginia. They will be there a few more years. So -- after the wedding, the kids spent the night and the next day we went to Hinkle's Family Fun....and we had so much fun. We first played 18 holes of miniature golf -- that was a hoot -- and then the kids and Missy rode the bumper boats. They REALLY had fun with that. When they got out -- they all were soaked. We then went to Sonic and took the kids home so that they could spent the night with Tina's brother and wife Matt and Alysia. We had a great time with the kids.

The Reception

The reception was held at the Montano Chapel from 6-8 PM. We had a great turnout. My best girlfriend from middle school who was also my college roommate and spent a summer with me in Germany came especially for the wedding. We were so excited to see each other. It had been 28 years!!! Justin Ray, Lewis's best friend since childhood, also came for the reception. He is Michael Buble's trumpeter. We all had a great time and when it was over, the newlyweds went home to their newly bought house for the night and the next day flew to Phoenix for their honeymoon. They went to a Diamondbacks baseball game with tickets that Uncle Bob and Aunt Bonnie got them and spent 2 more wonderful days there together before coming home on Monday night.

After the wedding and the pictures, most of the family went to El Pinto for lunch. We all had the great lunch buffet and they made chile rellenos special for us. Everyone loved the place and the ambience (atmosphere!). Doug and Lydia went off and had lunch on their own and Chris, Kristen and Ryan were tooo sick for lunch. They had the stomach flu -- Kristen was sick the night before the wedding, Chris got sick in the night -- and both threw up all night before the wedding. They were troopers, however, and made it to the wedding, but both were still very sick.

The Pregame Show

Thursday night before the wedding, we had a great family cookout. All the family met one another. We had it in the Colovos's backyard -- Kristen's parents house. Their backyard is sooo beautiful. Kristen and I hosted a wedding shower for Lydia at Kristen's house. We had so much yummy food and great desserts (thanks to Kristen's cake decorating ability). We had breakfast casseroles, muffins, delicious fruit and of course, cupcakes filled with chocolate mousse and chocolate cake bites sitting in chocolate molded in a Reese's peanut butter cup mold and white chocolate on top. It was all so good and Lydia got lots of needed things. We had lots of help from out good friend and also cake decorator Kelli Monnheimer, who couldn't come to the shower. But, thanks Kelli for all the help and we missed you!!

MEETING NATALIE -- Washington DC in April

We were so excited to go to Washington DC the last week in April to meet our beautiful new granddaughter, Natalie, born April 2, 2009. She is so sweet -- so cute -- so beautiful. We were so excited. We also got to visit our other 3 wonderful grandkids, Ashley 9, Austin 7, and Katie 5, at the time!!! We had a great time. We also got to sight see Washington DC while there -- we haven't really done that before. It was fun. Overall, that trip was wonderful.

Washington DC in April

In late April, Gary and I were able to go to DC to visit Lewis, Tina and the kids. It was great because we got to see our new grandbaby, Natalie, born April 2, 2009. She is a beauty!!!! It was so fun to be able to hold her and get to know her. While there we were able to sight see also. We've been there many times, but never have really gone to sight see so it was fun. We also got to see Ashley and Austin play baseball right before we left. It was a great trip.

We were able to go to the kids baseball games while in DC. My camera broke while we were on the tour of DC, so Pat Tucker (known as Papa to the kids -- Christina's dad) took these pictures. It was so fun to see them play. Ashley and Austin are great baseball players. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see Katie play, but I hear she is awesome too.

Ashley is the catcher!!! So intense!! She does a great job too. Lewis was their coach and made sure that every kid played every position at one time or another. He was really good at rotating the kids so they all got equal time. He is such a good Dad.

I just love the flag -- a symbol of our freedom. Don't ever let anyone take it away. I fear that in these days -- but know that Heavenly Father will protect us. We just need to get our country awakened -- to stop corruption, special interests, political correctness, and moral degradation of our society. We need to pray to our Heavenly Father to help us.

Before my wonderful 58th birthday, we traveled quite a bit. We spent Halloween in Fairfax, Virginia with our oldest son Lewis, his wife Tina and 3 wonderful grandchildren, Ashley (9), Austin (7) and Katie (who turned 5 just a few days ago on my birthday Dec 12 -- it's her birthday also!) Ashley is the scary witch, Austin is the awesome Indiana Jones and Katie is such a cute little mermaid. We had a great time at the Halloween carnival. And, of course, since it was fall, we needed the obligatory fall pictures (the trees were sooo beautiful!)

It's Been a Long Time Since I posted!!! So, here we go!

Dec 12 was my 58th birthday. How could I be so old? It was my ward's Christmas party that day, so I assumed that everybody there was celebrating my birthday. Was I wrong? It was a fun party and a fun day. My friend Carol took me to breakfast (Jan Maxwell was supposed to also come but was sick), and then I went to work for my son Chris at his homebuilding business, mailed packages to Lewis and Tina and kids, made creamy potatoes for the dinner and then went to my big Ward Christmas Evalee Taylor birthday party!! Great meal -- ham, turkey, potatoes, all kinds of salads, green beans and of course, pumpkin pie. What a nice birthday!! At the party, Gary and I took a picture for our Christmas card. There we are, fat, happy and old!!!

Today we had a picnic at Burke Lake with Tina and Lewis, their friends Matt and Jeanette (standing behind us) and Matt's sister Annamarie and her husband Spencer. They are a great group of kids and we had a blast playing cards last night and then at the park today.
Gary tested the Mentos and Diet Coke theory and yes it does explode.

As we are packing in to go Tina took this of us and Ash and Katie. Austin was at a birthday party which is why he is not here.

A Day in DC

Well on Friday Lewis walked our butts off as we parked and then walked to the Smithsonian Museums. WE went through the Smithsonian Castle which is a visitors center for all the Smithsonian museums and then to the Air and Space Museum. We got to see a lot of planes from WWI and WWII.
When I was flying back and forth from Austin to El Paso in college I flew in a plane like this one. It wasn't an Eastern Airlines but it was the same kind of plane.

I took this of the National Archives as we walked by. Tina thought it was nice so I posted it.

Well we finally made it to Virginia after a week long trip to get there. We visited The St. Louis Arch and saw Andy Williams in Branson. Then we went through the Corvette factory but they wouldn't let me take any pictures or even take my purse in (boo hoo). We will deliver the Jetta tomorrow. Hope that you all enjoy my blog.
